Why do we scan?...
Ultrasound scans are carried out to detect pregnancy. They can also be used to do an approximate litter count - this cannot always be 100% accurate, but it will give you a good indication on the litter size.
When is it best to carry out a scan?...
The most ideal time to scan for puppies is 30-35 days after the first mating, this should allow a clear picture which will give a good indication if your dog is pregnant.

Whilst scanning, I can do measurements that will give an estimated due date. This will allow you time to prepare for the birth.
Sheep Ultrasound Scanning
I also offer sheep and goat scanning, there are many animals I can scan for you so please do not hesitate to contact me with your requirements!
On average, a sheep’s gestation period is 147 days - Approximately 5 months.

Sometimes the gestation period can be longer or shorter with outliers.
I tend to focus on smaller flocks, but please feel free to let me know how many you have and we can work together to achieve your requirements!
